Cables To Go Velocity - Video / audio cable - component video / audio - RCA (M)

Velocity Component Video Interconnects from Impact Acoustics offer high-quality vivid detail and color for today's video and home theater applications. These cost-effective performance cables give you maximum picture and sound quality compared to ordinary "out of the box" cables. Low-loss 75ohm oxygen-free copper center conductors and foam dielectric provides improved picture quality and performance. Twisted pair oxygen-free copper wire and foam dielectric provide optimized audio clarity. The 100% Mylar foil and OFC braid shield protects against unwanted noise and interference. The color-coded molded connectors attach to an ultra flexible jacket allowing for easy installation and identification. The 24K gold plated, durable connectors ensure long lasting, corrosion-free connections. Component Video Interconnects connect video equipment with component video output jacks to televisions, projectors with component video input jacks. By using Component Video Cables, you bypass the TV's Y/C separator and Color Decoder, routing the color (Y Pr Pb) information directly into the TV's matrix decoder. By sending the pure DVD component video signal directly to a component video input-equipped display device, the DVD signal forgoes the extra processing that normally would degrade the image. The result is a vastly increased image quality, with incredibly lifelike colors and crisp detail.

Cisco Catalyst 3560-48PS EMI - Switch - 48 ports - EN, Fast EN - 10Base-T, 100Ba

The Cisco Catalyst 3560 Series switches is a line of fixed configuration, enterprise-class, IEEE 802.3af and Cisco prestandard Power over Ethernet (PoE) switches in Fast Ethernet configurations that provide availability, security, and quality of service (QoS) to enhance network operations. The Catalyst 3560 is an ideal access layer switch for small enterprise wiring closets or branch office environments that are using their LAN infrastructure for the deployment of new products and applications such as IP telephones, wireless access points, video surveillance, building management systems, and remote video kiosks. Customers can deploy network-wide intelligent services, such as advanced QoS, rate limiting, access control lists, multicast management, and high-performance IP routing - while maintaining the simplicity of traditional LAN switching. Embedded in the Catalyst 3560 is the Cisco Cluster Management Suite (CMS) Software, which allows users to simultaneously configure and troubleshoot multiple Cisco Catalyst desktop switches using a standard Web browser. Cisco CMS Software provides configuration wizards that greatly simplify the implementation of converged networks and intelligent network services. The Catalyst 3560 Series can provide a lower total cost of ownership (TCO) for deployments that incorporate Cisco IP phones and Cisco Aironet wireless LAN access points, as well as any IEEE 802.3af-compliant end device. Power over Ethernet removes the need for wall power to each PoE-enabled device and eliminates the cost for additional electrical cabling that would otherwise be necessary in IP phone and wireless LAN deployments. Maximum power availability for a converged voice and data network is attainable when a Catalyst 3560 Switch is combined with the Cisco Redundant Power System 675 (RPS 675) for seamless protection against internal power supply failures and an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) system to safeguard against power outages.

Allied Telesis AT FS232 - Media converter - 10Base-T, 100Base-FX, 100Base-TX - R

When upgrading your traditional 10Mbps Ethernet network or extending your 100Mbps Fast Ethernet network, switches are required, the AT-FS232 switch provides the ideal solution. The AT-FS232 will connect any two copper networks - irrespective of speed, and allow any copper network to be extended over a Fast Ethernet fiber link up to distances of 100km. Many new backbone switch products now support the industry standard IEEE 802.1Q specification for VLANs (Virtual LANs), which requires extra long data packets to be sent on the network. The AT-FS232 switch has been designed to be fully compatible with these long packets, allowing them to be used in modern networks. Switches not supporting this feature will discard these extra long packets, making them unsuitable for modern networks. The switches can be used almost anywhere due to their small physical size and external power supply. Alternatively, they can be mounted in a chassis along with Allied Telesyn's media converters. This allows users to construct any mix of network conversions, with the additional option of a redundant power supply. The Missing Link feature allows the ports on the media converter to pass the "Link" status of their connections to each other. When the media converter detects a problem with one of the ports, such as the loss of connection to a node, it shuts down the connection to the other port, thus notifying the node that the connection has been lost. The value to this type of network monitoring and fault notification is that some hubs and switches can be configured to take a specific action in the event of the loss of connection on a port. In some cases, the unit can be configured to seek a redundant path to a disconnected end-node or send out a trap to a network management station alerting the network administrator of the problem. The Smart Missing Link mode is one step advance from the Missing Link mode. In SML mode, a downstream Link LED is forced to blink to indicate the link status of the local section is OK, but at the section where the physical link is down, the Link LED will be forced off. This special feature is useful in determining where the actual link is down and where the link is still good.

The Subconscious Link To Our Computer Desktop

If you are a Windows user then you probably have some kind of a desktop theme or wallpaper on your desktop. They are fun, and you can download some very cool ones from the Internet. I personally have a beautiful Celtic one that I downloaded, and I love it.

Recently, however, it came to my attention that our desktop themes and/or wallpaper can have a very subtle yet strong effect on us!

My husband went to Penn State University when he graduated from high school. He went in the early 70s, at the height of the hippie, sex-drugs-rock and roll era, when the Vietnam War was in full swing and protesting it was what college students did.
He was very much into the whole genre, and he got quite heavily into the drug and alcohol scene. He looked back on this time as fun and exciting, but also the beginnings of a long-term problem with substance abuse.

Recently he wanted to change his desktop, so he picked a fun Penn State theme. It had the fight song and the Nittany Lion, Penn States mascot.

After about a month of having this desktop theme on his computer he began having disturbing dreams. He dreamed repeatedly that he was back at Penn State. He had no money, had to sleep on park benches and he was constantly in search of drugs and a liquor store! He was quite confused by these dreams, and found them to be distressing.

When he finally discussed this with me, I heard right away that these dreams were being caused by the desktop theme. Even though he was looking back at the fun times when he viewed it, it was triggering memories in his subconscious that were not so fun. When we changed the theme of his desktop, the dreams stopped.

The subconscious is an interesting thing. It can take over and drive our cars for us when we are daydreaming while driving, but it has no ability to discern between fantasy and reality or between truth and lies. Our subconscious has no sense of good or bad, evil or angelic. It just IS. And when it is triggered by something, it can take over our dreams in ways that we do not understand.

So, what is your desktop theme saying to your subconscious? This is not unlike what that bumper sticker on your car is saying to strangers. You need to take a look at this and evaluate what your theme is saying to you and about you.

Try to pick a desktop theme that shows something soothing, or some goal that you have. Make it be uplifting! Consider it as a tool that can work for you or against you. It is a lot easier to have a theme that is going to trigger only the highest and best in your subconscious, than it is to deal with bad dreams or why your thinking may be negative.

Little things can mean a lot!

The HDTV Market Follows the Same Route as the Personal Computers.

Sales of HDTVs are more than doubling each year, technology advances are announced daily, and it's hard to keep up with this heady pace. But it all sounds strangely familiar. Take a moment to consider the personal computer market of 15 years ago. Back in 1991...

* The computer you really wanted cost $3,000 or more;

* System specifications were a confusing mess of acronyms and jargon, such as EGA and VGA, MHz and KB, IDE and DRAM, cache and interleave;

* The technology was changing rapidly, making it hard to keep up with the differences between the 80386 and 80386SX and the new 80486;

* If you walked into a computer store, you'd likely be confused by the answers to your questions;

* If you went to more than one computer store, you'd find that you'd be told conflicting answers to your questions;

* Some familiar brands such as IBM had personal computers, but you also were confronted by a host of unfamiliar brands such as Swan and Gateway and Sager and Packard Bell;

* Your purchase was going to have to last you at least five years, so you wanted to make sure you bought a system that wasn't going to be obsolete overnight; and

* You didn't want to make a stupid mistake, but it was hard to get enough information to make a confident decision.

Fast-forward to 2006: this same list describes the current HDTV and digital TV market, only the jargon and acronyms and brands have changed.

Early adopters and high-end HD television enthusiasts either have the time and interest to educate themselves, or have the money to let someone else figure it out for them. These people rely on the specialist magazines and custom HDTV installation services.

As we climb into the fat part of the HDTV adopter curve, however, we encounter HDTV buyers who are more concerned with maximum results for minimum costs than with becoming experts in high definition television on their own. They need a source of independent, expert HDTV advice that will help them learn enough to make a confident, informed decision about their HDTV and home entertainment purchases, without having to invest a significant amount of time and money in the process.

Alfred Poor's HDTV Resource Center is designed to meet the needs of the "fat part" of the HDTV adopter market, providing access to information that is presented in clear and accessible terms that will help buyers understand the important issues so that they can make up their own minds about which factors are most important for their needs and tastes.

Alfred Poor has spent the last 20 years helping millions of readers cope with the confusion surrounding personal computers and related products, and has earned an international following in the process. He now turns his skills and two decades of experience to the HDTV and home entertainment market, with the goal of helping bewildered readers cut through the confusion, and make confident HDTV buying decisions.

Free Registry Repair - Cure Your Computer Without Cost!

Isn't that great if you can have free registry repair and save yourself
some money? In this article, I will show you how to repair your
computer with freeware registry cleaners, totally free!

I must highlight some of the disadvantage of using free registry repair software:Bad #1 - Errors detection not so effective, you need more free cleaners to produce satisfaction result.Bad #2 - Lack of auto backup. Freeware registry cleaners do not usually come with auto backup before repair, you need to be careful when using them.Bad #3 - Not problem proof. Freeware registry cleaners require human intervention to determine if such entry can be safely removed.Bad #4 - Lack of support.Having said that, with multiple free registry repair software, you can contra each other weakness with their unique features! 3 of my favorite free registry cleaners are:EUsing - Repairs your registry without much human intervention, you can also use it to backup the whole Windows registry without regedit.Regseeker - Nice interface and nice software, but require a license for commercial use.CCleaner - Clean general computer trash, including Windows registry.Another popular and free registry repair software is EasyCleaner - Function similar to CCleaner, but I didn't use it anymore, because I have the other 3!The rule to use freeware cleaner is backup, backup and backup. Never use a free cleaner without backup unless you already use it for some time and feel safe with it. For faster, more effective manage, scan and repair your WindowsArticle Submission, I would still recommend the commercial product: Registry Easy and Regcure.(C) Copyright 2008 Kok Choon - Feel free to reprint this article in its entirety as long as all links and author resources box in place.

All Computer Users! Alert!

Eyestrain is another ergonomic problem frequently associated with the use of computers and Video Display Terminals (VDTs). Keep in mind that the solutions presented here are only recommendations. If following these recommendations seems to make matters worse, try something else! If you aren't experiencing headaches or eyestrain while you work at the computer, don't worry about making changes; obviously your setup works for you.

When people concentrate, they blink less often. Sometimes they concentrate so hard that they blink only once per minute, instead of the normal once every five seconds. This, too, will cause the eyes to dry out and become irritated. The Solution? Take micro-breaks! Frequently look up from your monitor and focus on an object several feet away. Make a conscious effort to blink. (see Eye Exercise)

Computer screen glare, inadequate room lighting and poor ergonomics are all known to contribute to eyestrain. The convergence of our eyes however is the main factor why we have computer-induced eyestrain. Every once in a while, change focus by glancing across the room or look out the window and focus on objects at least 20 feet away. Then, lightly cup your eyes with your palms, and relax for 60 seconds. Or, look away from the screen, and roll your eyes up and down, around and side to side. Eye Exams If you experience chronic eye problems, have your eyes examined by an eye care professional. If you work on a VDT, be sure to tell the doctor. Anyone who works regularly on VDTs should have annual eye exams, and people over age 40 may need more frequent checkups.

Invest in a special prismatic lens to reduce convergence demand on the eyes while we look at a near object such as a computer. The lenses are tinted to cut down glare and UV radiation, and they are non-magnifying. Most importantly, the prism feature of the lens will gently re-position our eyes to a more natural and comfortable position, relieving demand on eye muscles. This indirectly relaxes the focusing effort, providing a reduction in tension and enhancement of clearer vision.
